Restaurante Maringo reinterprets the local area’s traditional cuisine, using avant-garde techniques to recapture classic flavours in dishes with a distinctly innovative touch.
In similar style, one of the goals of the interior design project by Velvet Projects was to create a dynamic setting, devoid of any stiff formality. For this purpose, an artificial landscape was created using neutral-looking materials with a strong timeless appeal, arranging all the components in stationary compositions that nonetheless manage to evoke the sensation of constant movement.
Seen from the main vantage point, the restaurant’s wood-clad interiors form a huge “M”, used to define the layout of the whole room.
A big central black and white tiled rug provides high-resistance flooring for the restaurant’s continuous traffic. To make it, large-format through-body porcelain tiles from one of URBATEK’s most resistant timeless collections were chosen, the TOWN collection.
